If you have never worked for UM Housing before please provide three professional references as a required portion of the application process. Professional references should be from prior or current employment, professors, high school teachers, etc. Please do not list family members or family friends unless you have worked for them in a past or current work experience.

Current or former UM Housing staff are not required to provide references though they may choose to if they wish. We will utilize past performance reviews and supervisor recommendations in the selection process.

Under the General Education Provisions Act, an educational institution may request, but not require, that an applicant waive the right to inspect letters of recommendation for employment purposes.

UM Housing will send a request to each reference listed.  Applicants have the choice to review the letters of recommendation or waive access and leave the letters confidential.
